Rounds of edits: how many revisions to expect

Briefs can cap how many revision rounds a campaign includes. Check the number before you accept.

Last reviewed

A Rounds of edits figure appears in the campaign details when the brief sets one. It is how many revision cycles the campaign includes.

What counts as a round

One round is: your content is reviewed, changes are requested, you revise and resubmit. Both reviews feed it — a change asked for by the Social Native team and a change asked for by the brand each consume a round.

What does not count: you spotting a problem and replacing your own upload before anyone has reviewed it.

Why it is there

It protects both sides. You are not signed up to unlimited revisions on a fixed fee, and the brand is not left with a deliverable that never converges. A campaign with no figure shown has not set a cap.

How to avoid burning rounds

Almost every avoidable round traces to the brief:

  • Check the caption against the brief before submitting. A missing required hashtag or @mention is the single most common reason content comes back, and it is a wholly avoidable round.
  • Re-read the "do not" list. Things the brand cannot feature are usually stated explicitly.
  • Check format and aspect ratio against what the placement needs.
  • On concepts campaigns, use the concept round properly. Getting direction agreed before you shoot is what stops a whole piece being rejected later. See Concepts, raw files and images.

If you run out

Email creator.marketing@socialnative.com with your username and the campaign name. This is worth raising rather than guessing at — if feedback has been contradictory across rounds, or the brief was genuinely ambiguous, that is something we would rather sort out with the brand than have you absorb.

If feedback is unclear

Ask before you re-shoot. Every submission has a notes thread; a question there costs nothing, and a wasted round costs you real work. "Doesn't feel right" is not actionable — it is fair to ask what specifically needs to change.
