Concepts, raw files and images
Some campaigns add a concept round before you shoot, or ask for raw footage and stills after your content is accepted.
Last reviewed
Not every campaign is just "shoot it and upload it". Two optional stages show up on some campaigns, and both appear in your tracker only when the campaign uses them.
Concepts
On a concepts campaign you pitch your idea before you shoot. The brand steers direction while changing it is still cheap — for you, that is the difference between a note on an idea and a reshoot.
The step label tells you exactly where it stands:
| Label | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Submit concept | Nothing pitched yet |
| Concept in review | With the Social Native team |
| Concept with brand | We approved it; the brand is looking |
| Concept changes requested | Read the notes and revise |
| Concept rejected | Not going ahead as pitched |
Wait for approval before you shoot. That is the entire point of the stage — shooting against an unapproved concept is exactly the work it exists to prevent.
Raw files and images
Some campaigns ask for more than the finished piece: the raw footage, extra stills, or both. The step is named for what it wants — Raw files, Images, or Raw & images.
The timing catches people out: these unlock per piece, only once the brand has accepted that piece. While your content is still in review, the step will not ask you for anything. That is not a bug, and there is nothing to do about it but wait.
Once unlocked, upload your raw files — each upload is delivered to the brand straight away, with no review, and you can still add or remove files afterwards. Images work the same way as content: upload them, press Submit images for review, and they get reviewed.
Plan for them
Both stages are stated in the brief before you accept. Two things worth doing:
- Keep your raw footage. If the campaign has the raw add-on, you will be asked for it after approval — deleting your source files off your phone or card in between is a genuinely common way to end up unable to complete a campaign.
- Budget the extra round. A concepts campaign has one more approval cycle than a standard one, so the gap between accepting and getting paid is longer.
