Share of Views and Trends Analysis

Two outward-looking tools: where your category’s attention goes, and what is gaining traction. Not on every account.

Last reviewed

Reports & Analytics tells you how your campaigns did. These two look outward instead.

If you cannot see them

Both are rolled out per account. If Share of Views or Trends Analysis are not in your sidebar, they are not enabled for you — nothing is broken, and there is no setting to turn on yourself. Ask your Social Native contact.

Share of Views

How attention in your category divides between you and comparable brands. Where Reports & Analytics is absolute — your reach, your engagement — this is relative. A campaign can beat its own benchmark while the category grows faster around it, and only a share measure shows that.

Useful for planning budget against a category rather than against your own last campaign, and for the argument that a flat quarter was actually a hard quarter for everyone.

Trend discovery for planning: formats, topics and sounds gaining traction, so a brief can be built on something moving rather than something that peaked two months ago.

Best used before the campaign wizard. Once you are writing a goal, you have already decided what the campaign is about — trends are most useful while that is still open.

How they fit together

A rough order when planning:

  1. Trends Analysis — what is moving in the category right now.
  2. Share of Views — where you stand against comparable brands.
  3. Campaign wizard — build the brief informed by both.
  4. Reports & Analytics and campaign results — what actually happened.

Neither of these reads your campaign data, and neither is affected by whether creators have connected their channels. They look at the category, not at you.
